Position Overview

M&G Millwrights LLC is looking for a skilled and motivated Laser Table Operator / CAD Programmer / Fabrication Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on manufacturing environment and can also handle technical office work when needed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain a CNC laser cutting table
  • Create, edit, and nest parts using CAD/CAM software for laser cutting
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Perform light fabrication work, including fitting and welding, as required
  • Assist with quoting jobs, material takeoffs, and estimating in the office
  • Work with production and office staff to ensure jobs are completed accurately and on schedule
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Qualifications

  • Minimum education level: High School/GED
  • College education is preferred, but expertise in the industry is prioritized
  • Experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment
  • Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, DraftSight, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of shop drawings, tolerances, and materials
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills (MIG/TIG experience a plus)
  • Ability to switch between shop floor work and office tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Fluency in English
  • Preferred: Experience with quoting or estimating custom fabrication jobs
  • Preferred: Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes
  • Preferred: Forklift or material handling experience
