Position Overview

M&G Millwrights LLC is seeking a certified Fitter & MIG Welder to join our growing team. This role is responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication work across a variety of industrial projects. The ideal candidate brings strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and workmanship.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on structural steel, stainless steel, and other materials
  • Experience with various tools (e.g. angle grinder, break press, or plate roller) required to layout, mark, cut, bend and roll, and weld any structural, plate, and light galvanized steel
  • Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols accurately
  • Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components and equipment
  • Execute field welding work in industrial environments, including plant shutdowns and maintenance projects
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and compliance with specifications
  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper operation
  • Follow all company safety procedures and industry regulations
  • Occasionally operate a forklift and/or overhead crane to assist with moving materials within the workshop (training to be provided on both)

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience in welding. Ideally, five or more years of experience in similar role.
  • Valid AWS certification or willingness to be certified
  • Proven experience in industrial or structural welding
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience with stainless steel and process piping is an asset
  • Strong understanding of welding safety standards and best practices
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments (lifting, climbing, confined spaces as needed)
  • Ability to work with a team or independently with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as required
  • Fluency in English
